A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words?
Now we have reached the end of the first unit of the course, 'Power, Sovereignty and International Relations' we are going to take some time to reflect on what we have learnt and consider what some of the most important issues and concepts are and how we can relate them to contemporary events and processes globally. Today's class will be, by its very nature, much less structured than normal but we will see where it takes us. The aim is to spark debate, discussion and respectful argument.
You should each take a few minutes to consider what we have covered since the beginning of the course... you may find it helpful to revisit the unit contents page to help with this. You must then go online and find one picture that you feel represents the globals politics issue (it must be from this unit) in the most striking way possible. It might be a photograph, it might be a cartoon or a some grafitti. You have 10 minutes to find your picture and email it to me. You should be prepared to introduce your choice of picture to the rest of the class.... and remember, it is fine to be provocative.
