2. Put a title: Was there really a football match between England and Germany on Christmas day World War 1?
3. Watch the first video below. Create a subheading: 'The Christmas advert claims that:' and bullet point the key features of the story it tells.
4. Watch the second video and add extra info from it to your bullet points.
5. Now read this news story and add anything extra you would like to your notes.
6. Investigate the truth of this story using the internet. Click here for a great BBC site. 
7. Make a table with two columns: 'Things that are probably true in the advert' and 'things that are probably exaggerated/left out/wrong in the advert' - complete the table using your research.
8. Explain why you think Sainsbury's (a supermarket) chose to use:
a) This particular event in their advert?
b) Why they presented it in the way that they did?

2. Open the 'War at Sea' worksheet below. Read pages 43-45 only - complete both the Focus Task and Activity on page 45.

We will not have time to go back over this in class so make sure you complete this fully for homework. You should also spend a bit of time reviewing areas you were not sure of after the mocks over the holidays.

You should know what you are doing. By the start of Term 2, your fully completed Group Project Report will be uploaded to my Google Classroom. This is the final deadline.
1. Spend Wednesday's lesson making your group part of the project perfect. Refer to the exemplar I gave you last lesson to check.
2. Check your email for feedback from me on the Individual elemant of your project that you submitted before the exams. If you did not submit then you will not be eligible for feedback. Remember, to use the advice on the Google Classroom to help you to interpret the feedback.
3. Make any changes you wish to in your individual elelment.

Please complete the following lessons while I am away. We will not have time to re-do these lessons to please make sure you complete them for homework. Your next assessment essay (second week back) may be on one of these topics. Your home learning is to review your notes from Hitler's consolidation of power, maintenance of power in addition to what you will cover here in this 'opposition' lesson.
A. How significant was oppostion to Adolf Hitler?
The aim here is to be able to write an essay on the extent of oppostion that Hitler faced throughout his time in power. Why was it so little? How did it change over time?

​1. Watch the documentary on the Opposition to Hitler.
As you watch, make notes unsing the Cornell Frame as - make sure you follow all the steps (notes, then titles/questions in the margin, summary at the end)..

4. Home Learning: Use the 'Dead Fish Planning Frame' opposite to plan an answer to this question:
Assess the importance of the use of force and economic policies in the maintenance of power of one authoritarian or single-party ruler.
You will use the material we have covered on the consolidation and maintenance of power to complete this plan - this is everything from Hitler's appointment as Chancellor in 1933 that is related to economics and use of force (your CLA here is likely to be a judgment between which of the two was more significant).

1. Your second 'Cold War Crisis' Case study on the Cuban Missile Crisis. This is VITAL - complete everything fully. In the exam you could be asked to compare two crises or focus on one in depth. 
2. Complete at least one essay plan using the Dead Fish Planning Frame.

Reminder: You should obviously be revising for Paper 3 and Paper 1 Rwanda for your mock examinations. Follow the link below for the Paper 3 revision site. I would advise depth on the Inter-Wars and Russia unit (you would then have four questions to choose from). If you have additional time the last half of the WW1 unit. Rwanda should be revised through your textbook for skills and the lesson worksheets (the book is very detailed on content).
